Internal Treatment Processes

We offer a variety of treatment processes which are performed internally in our respective specialty departments. Among others, these optimizing processes are:

Frictional (vibratory) grinding • Barrel finishing • Degreasing • Smoothing • Oiling • Greasing • Lubricant coating • Polishing • Annealing • Etching (pickling) • Assembling • 100 % inspection • Chemical deburring of brass, copper and steel

Our customer service is more than happy to help you identify which treatments are recommendable for your products.

Mechanical Post Treatment by Material Removal

Frictional and vibratory grinding are methods to finish the surface of metallic parts. The workpieces, grinding bodies (the so called "chips") and usually an additive within a water-based solution are poured inside a container. Through an oscillating and rotating motion, a relative movement between the workpieces and the grinding bodies occurs. It results in a material removal of the workpiece, especially at its edges. The grain and roughness of the workpiece, as well as the material removal and deburring performance can be adjusted arbitrarily by choosing the respective machinery and tools (grinding bodies and compound). Polishing is a smoothing finishing-work procedure for a variety of materials. The smoothing effect can be achieved generally with two mechanisms: on the one hand, the roughness peaks of the surface texture is being plastically and partially plastically deformed and flattened. On the other hand, a minimal material removal occurs, depending on the type of polishing, as well as a filling of cavities. Deburring removes burrs. Burrs are sharp edges which are generated during the production or machining process. These edges can be removed through frictional grinding as mentioned above or through an automatic process (for example chamfering).

Degreasing

In contrast to many competitors, we have onsite technical facilities to ensure the ideal cleaning and degreasing of your products. Our modern plant allows for an intensive parts cleaning by for example turning, pivoting, flooding and evaporating. Our degreasing unit meets the highest cleaning standards, especially in support of the needs of our customers in the automotive, aviation, and electrical industries. We also offer specialized residual oil monitoring and logging upon request. Furthermore, our facility has the highest standards in environmental protection in addition to compliances with all statutory threshold values as well as the safety requirements which are checked and certified annually by the German technical inspection authority "TÜV". For environmental reasons, the degreasing medium is recycled by our in-house vacuum distillation system. The continuous inspection of the degreasing medium is based on a testing method developed by The Dow Chemical Company and ensures a consistent cleanliness as well as a lack of grease and oil on the surface for further processing.

100 % Inspection: Automatic Inspection / Sorting of Mass Production Components

We perform 100 % inspections with turntables and linear systems in collaboration with our partner companies. Both methods provide ideal technical qualifications for the various test criteria. To meet these stringent requirements, the systems are equipped with adequate cameras, lenses and lighting.

Examples of criteria of automated inspection and monitoring include:

  • Inner and outer diameter
  • Lack of burr
  • Length
  • Surface
  • Contour
  • Foreign parts
  • Thread testing
